I recently had a huge box of a Felicity lot that I won on Ebay arrive. I spent $250 on the lot, and everything is in great condition except for the pre-Mattel nightstand, which the legs have splintered off of. I got the insurance number from the seller, but now what do I do with it? Do I carry the nightstand to the PO? How much do I ask for it? Any ideas?

Is there anything on the nightstand to signify that it is pre-mattel?

When the post office busted two pm Kirsten trunks in a row for us, we went down with the broken trunks, a copy of the insurance, a copy of the trunk's page from ag.com, and several resources detailing why pre-mattel items are worth more than mattel and harder to find.

We highlighted all of the important points in our papers and the post office came to an agreement with us and paid us back a LOT of the money.

It took awhile to actually get the money back, but it will come! Just hang in there.

Where would I find a resource listing the current selling price of a pre-Mattel table? I am almost a hundred percent sure that it is PM, so I would like to be prepared like you. Any resources you can point me toward?

I've never done this (successfully), so take my advice with a big grain of salt.

We had something shipped from Canada and it arrived broken. We were told we had to bring the box in and show the way it was all packed. The post office decided it hadn't been packed properly so they didn't have to pay.

In terms of proving value-- I would print out completed auction listings that show what it is selling for. Then spend some time on google and see if you can find some collector's sites or articles that talk about the value of pre-mattel AG items. I believe there is also a blue book for dolls that lists values-- maybe it covers accessories and furniture as well?

    Good luck!
